Hi, I’m Sam — founder of Little Star Studio, children’s author, designer and art therapy coach.
This studio began with a single storybook way back in 2015 and has grown into something far bigger: a place where creativity meets emotional wellbeing. Over the years, I’ve combined my background in design with specialised training in art therapy coaching, child mental health and emotional resilience — all fuelled by my personal experiences as both a parent and someone who knows what it’s like to feel overwhelmed as a child.
Today, I create gentle, screen-free tools that help families connect, calm and grow together. From picture books to printable resources and now art-based courses, everything I make is designed to help children (and the grown-ups around them) navigate big feelings with confidence and creativity.
And I’m still evolving. My next chapter includes one-to-one creative coaching sessions for adults and therapists who want to explore emotional wellness through art.
Little Star Studio is made with love, designed with care — and I’m so glad you’re here.
A little More About My Training and Expertise
Over the years, I’ve developed my professional skills and deepened my understanding of emotional resilience, child development and mental health. My qualifications include:
Art Therapy Coaching
Coping with Change
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Through Play
Children’s and Young People’s Mental Health
These certifications, combined with hands-on experience as a parent and designer, allow me to create resources that are not only effective but also engaging and adaptable for use at home, in schools, or in therapeutic settings.
My Mission:
Creative Tools for Confident, Connected Families.
Little Star Studio began with a simple goal: to help children feel seen, supported and emotionally strong through creative tools they can connect with. Over time, that mission has grown — and so have I.
I’ve poured everything I’ve learned as a designer, author, parent, and art therapy coach-in-training into building a thoughtful, accessible collection of books, printables, and now a full 6-week screen-free craft course. It’s been a labour of love, and one I’m deeply proud of — designed to help families slow down, reconnect, and build emotional resilience through hands-on creativity.
But the heart of Little Star Studio isn’t just about children anymore.
As my own creative practice has deepened — especially through painting and therapeutic arts — I’ve found myself drawn to supporting adults too. Many of us carry emotional loads we were never taught how to unpack. That’s why I’m beginning a new chapter: offering one-to-one creative coaching sessions for adults who want to explore their own wellbeing through art, reflection, and gentle guidance.
So whether you're here to support your little one, or yourself — my mission remains the same:
To make meaningful, creative tools that help people feel more confident, more connected and more themselves.
